April set to be an egg-xcellent month for ATN Partners!

This year the ATN activities start very early, with Preston City Council and Yorkshire Festival bringing to their audiences six Without Walls shows, as well as some fantastic audience development activities.

The fun begins on Easter Monday in Preston, where audiences will be able to see three Without Walls shows along with the traditional rolling of eggs down the big hill at Avenham Park: 8 Songs by Gandini Juggling, Ear Trumpet by Gobbledegook Theatre and Vegetable Nannies by Plunge Boom.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire Festival will work with the Tour de Yorkshire to bring communities together across Scarborough, Tadcaster and Harrogate. The team has taken the destruction of the connecting bridge in Tadcaster in 2016 as inspiration and starting point for reuniting communities that may have become separated. A large-scale community event supported by the Associate Touring Network will engage 2,000 people from the local area to make a giant yellow jersey using waterproof materials, which will be installed on the hillside over the festival weekend (keep your eyes peeled for this one while you watch the Tour de Yorkshire on tv!). In addition to this, there will be a number of workshops aimed at children aged 5-16 in Tadcaster, and an artist residency project in Harrogate to work with community groups who are currently actively involved with Harrogate Museums.
