A look at Bell Square: Audience development through social media

Without Walls is working with Bell Square, Outdoor Arts Space in the Heart of Hounslow to deliver an accessible programme of outdoor arts to this borough of London.

Bell Square is managed by Watermans who is keen to engage the local community through social media. It has been using Facebook and Twitter, posting engaging event posts and interacting with like-minded organisations and individuals. The result of which has been Bell Square organically growing its online following.

The organisation launched its blogger campaign on social media and in the local press, using a video to generate interest. The article and video on GetWestLondon.com generated 42 shares. From this, it now has 5 bloggers who have either already contributed. This has included blogs on the Bell Square website, but also posts on their own social media feeds.

The bloggers are representative of the local community and from diverse backgrounds. Bell Square has also run social media training sessions with these bloggers.
